This site is run by Wasim Muklashy, a landscape, nature, and travel photographer based in Oregon, USA. This policy describes exactly what this website does and does not collect. It is written to match how the site is actually built rather than to cover every possibility, and it is kept short on purpose.
The short version
This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics, and loads nothing from third-party servers. There is no tracking here of any kind. The only personal information the site ever receives is what you deliberately type into the contact form and send to me.
The contact form
The contact form asks for your name, your email address, a subject, and an optional message. When you submit it, that information is emailed directly to me and is not stored in this website’s database.
I use what you send only to reply to you and to carry out any work we go on to discuss. I do not add you to a mailing list, and I do not sell, rent, or share your details with anyone. Your message lives in my email account, where I keep it as long as it is useful for our correspondence or for records of work I have done.
Cookies and analytics
There are none. This site does not set cookies, does not run Google Analytics or any other analytics package, and carries no advertising or social media tracking pixels. Fonts and images are served from this site’s own server rather than from an outside content network, so simply reading a page here does not report your visit to any other company.
Because nothing is tracked, there is no cookie banner to click and nothing for you to opt out of.
Server logs
This site is hosted by Hostinger, which keeps standard web server logs. Like almost every website, those logs record your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. They exist for security and troubleshooting, they are handled by the host under its own policy, and I do not use them to build any profile of visitors.
Comments on older posts
This blog has been running since 2004, and readers left comments on it for many years. Commenting is now closed across the whole site, so no new comments can be submitted and no new information is collected this way.
Comments left in earlier years are still published beneath their posts, showing the name and any website address the commenter chose to enter at the time. Commenters’ email addresses are stored but have never been displayed publicly. If you left a comment here and would like it removed, email me and I will take it down.
Instagram photos
Some pages display recent photos from my Instagram account. Those images are copied to this server in advance and served from here, so your browser does not contact Instagram or Meta when you view them, and they cannot track you through this site.
Prints and other links
Fine art prints are sold through Fine Art America, and links to social media accounts point to Instagram, Facebook, and Bluesky. No purchase or payment ever happens on this website, and I never see or handle your payment details. Once you follow a link away from here, you are covered by that company’s privacy policy rather than this one.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you are welcome to ask me what personal information of yours I hold, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or California, you have these rights in law, and you may also object to my use of your information or ask for a copy of it.
In practice, what I hold is almost always just an email you sent me. Ask and I will delete it. There is no account to close and no profile to download.
Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If I ever add analytics, a newsletter, or anything else that collects information, I will update this page and change the date at the top before switching it on.
