If you're not familiar, at 140 years old, American Forests is the nation's oldest conservation organization, so needless to say, I am completely humbled and flattered to have received an Honorable Mention by American Forests in their 2016 Forests in Focus photography contest for my photograph "Big Baby" taken in Mariposa Grove at Yosemite National Park. Click here to see a larger version of "Big Baby" and click here to check out all the beautiful winning images.
American Forests recognizes the importance of forests in our very survival and play a more than major role in protecting and restoring our world's forests. Since 1990 alone, they have planted more than 50 million trees across all 50 states and in almost 50 countries. By their stated mission, "American Forests inspires and advances the conservation of forests, which are essential to life. We envision a world in which forests are thriving and valued for their significant environmental, societal and economic benefits."
Oh me too. Meeeee too...
Thank you so much American Forests for this honor and, more importantly, the work that you do. We're going to need you now more than ever!!
